How we rate casinos and betting sites
Every operator on GiroReal goes through the same four checks, in the same order. A review describes what we checked and what we found. If we could not check something, or an operator does not publish it, the review says so instead of filling the gap.
Four checks, in order
Licence
Every review starts here. We record which regulator issued the licence, the licence number and the company named on it. Then we look the number up on the regulator’s own public register. If we cannot find it there, the review says so.
- Regulator and licence number
- Licence holder and operating company
- Whether the listing appears on the public register
Terms & wagering
We read the bonus terms rather than the headline. A large bonus can come with a high wagering multiplier, a short expiry or a cap on what you can withdraw. We write the numbers down as the operator states them.
- Wagering multiplier and what it applies to
- Game contribution rules and max bet while wagering
- Expiry period
- Caps on withdrawing bonus winnings
Payouts
We record the withdrawal limits and processing times the operator publishes, and which payment methods they apply to. Where we have run a test withdrawal, we show the result and the date. Where we have not, the review says so and uses the published figures.
- Published withdrawal limits and processing times
- Identity verification before a first withdrawal
- Our own test result and its date, when we have one
Support & safety
We check which safer-gambling tools are available and how easy they are to find. We also contact support and note the channels offered, how quickly someone replies and whether the answer matches the written terms.
- Deposit limits and self-exclusion
- Reality checks and time-out options
- Support channels and response time
What we never do
- We do not accept payment for a better score or a higher position in a ranking.
- We do not hide terms. Wagering, expiry and withdrawal caps are written out in the review.
- We do not promise wins. Gambling is a cost, not an income, and no offer changes the odds.

GiroReal earns a commission when a reader signs up with some of the operators we review. That is how the site is funded. Read the full explanation on the about page.
